The music theme package for Hollywood Reel Time serves as the distinct sonic identity for the broadcast, specifically built to bridge the gap between traditional prestige TV news and fast-paced entertainment tracking. The production behind the track highlights how boutique sonic branding functions across modern network television.

The music was composed by Todd P. Andrew - who records and publishes personal artist tracks under the electronic/indie moniker Godyes, and Produced by Current Music’s Maddie Madsen, who is also a composer.

For Hollywood Reel Time, Madsen and Andrew moved away from traditional, slow-building orchestral themes, opting instead for a slick electronic entertainment bumper format:

  • The "Godyes" Influence: Andrew seamlessly brought his signature electronic edge into the broadcast space. The theme utilizes crisp, driving digital percussion, modern synth-pop progressions, and a pulsating electronic baseline that mirrors a rapid-fire social media feed.

  • The High-Energy Flow: The track was engineered specifically for "attention economics." Because the show deals in quick-cutting pop culture, celebrity updates, and trending news, the music features sharp transition points (stingers) and short, punchy electronic stabs.

  • Versatile Bumpers: Beyond the main title open, the package includes varying loop lengths and low-frequency underscores. These allow the show editors to duck the volume under reporters' voiceovers or slam the track full-blast when throwing to a commercial break.

Hollywood Reel Time is broadcast in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, South Florida and the Bay Area of San Francisco.

Additionally, the show streams live via the 24/7 NBC Local News channels embedded in the Peacock Channels Guide, as well as Amazon Prime Video: Live feeds of the regional NBC News channels (such as NBC Boston News and NBC South Florida News) carry the program directly within Prime Video's Live TV hub.
